So Trevor had a really bad night. D Day had arrived and there was no more putting it off we needed to see a doctor. Before we did though Trev was hungry and he wanted a breakfast and he went for the full English! That seemed to go well so we prolonged the visit to the doctor by queuing for Guest Services for the best part of forty minutes to change our drink packages. We had somehow not ended up with the package that included water and coffee so for $5 more a day we could |

have it added on (cheaper than the price of one speciality coffee onboard) so it made total sense even though it took an age to get to see someone, always the way when people first get on board. Next stop was the medical centre; Trev was feeling dodgy again so it was down to the second floor we went. What was weird was that we arrived in the middle of a crew area, it was obvious that we should not be there but no one challenged us at all, not until we actually asked for directions, they just let us get on with it. Medical centre found but it was closed…. um, and apparently it was not opening until 4 o’clock. Now I just didn’t think this was good enough so marched upstairs, found the nearest crew member and explained the situation. We were taken back down to the medical centre. When Trev came out after seeing the nurse it was as I suspected, we were to be placed on cabin lockdown. Well I say we, really I mean Trevor as he now was not allowed out of the cabin for at least 24 hours. Also no food for at least six hours and then only certain things and absolutely no alcohol. These were the consequences I was expecting, but we need to get it sorted, Trev’s health must come first. What this means as well is that we are also not allowed to get off the boat tomorrow when it docks at Ho Chi Minh so no Cu Chi tunnels for us, such a shame that we did not do it when we were there but who knew this would happen? We spent much of the afternoon in the cabin, trying to remain positive. I escaped once or twice to get drinks and some lunch for me but other than that we were glued to our computers or the T.V. (we get free films whilst we are on cabin lockdown). So if I’m being honest there really is not much more to tell you, I mean there’s not much that you can get up to in the cabin that makes for interesting reading is there? I did a few in and outs from the cabin, fetching drinks, having a walk around but to be honest I needed to be in the cabin supporting Trev in this difficult time. Needless to say we are both feeling a bit sorry for ourselves and a bit fed up, we spent the last few hours of the day watching a film (London has Fallen) on the in cabin TV and that was our day….sorry that this makes far from from interesting reading. |
